Philosophy
I seek to create meaningful designs that work harmoniously with the landscape, to offer a compelling experience, through exploring garden spaces that evoke intimate connections with nature and the design. I look to sensitively forge relationships between a place and those who live and pass through the space.
I strive for simplicity in my designs, the hard landscaping should act as foil that compliments the planting, contemporary clean lines that tread a fine line between a decisive statement and a subtle intervention on the landscape. I am currently exploring planting styles that increase ecological diversity within a space, looking at sustainability in a way that enhances a design and its complexities, the planting is chosen to advocate the right plant for the right place. I am particularly interested in plant communities that occur in a natural landscape, and I look to use local materials that fit in with the surrounding buildings sensitively. |
